What is Salon Melbourne? Is it the same as the Melbourne International Beauty Expo?

Salon Melbourne is not the same as the Melbourne International Beauty Expo, however it is still a trade only event. The difference is that it's a hair and beauty combined event. You will still see the large array of beauty suppliers and beauty education and demonstrations, alongside hair suppliers, education and demonstrations. Where is the Event?

Salon Melbourne will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne. Please visit www.mcec.com.au for more information.

What are the Expo dates and times?

Saturday 17 April 2010 - 10am – 5pm

Sunday 18 April 2010 - 10am – 5pm

Is the public able to attend?

Salon Melbourne is a trade only event and public are unable to attend. Business identification is required.

Does the Event cost to attend?

There is no fee to visit, however it is a trade only event and ID is required.

How do I register?

You will be able to register for entry to Salon Melbourne from 28 January 2010. Visit www.salonmelbourne.com.au/tickets, complete the online form with all your details and most importantly supply an accurate email address as your registration will be confirmed by email.

You must fax through your trade identification documentation once your registration online is complete to + 61 (0)2 9211 7472 with your name and salon name clearly outlined.

Please note: You must print your registration confirmation that is emailed to you as this will give you access to the Expo.

Do I need Trade ID?

This is my first visit

Trade ID is required to register for the Expo if it is your first visit. You must fax copies of your ID to +61 (0)2 9211 7472 or mail to PO Box K402 Haymarket NSW 1240. Please clearly underline or print your name and salon name on these documents. If you post your Trade ID please do not send the original copies as we will not be able to return them.

I have attended before

If you have attended in the last two years then you should receive an email which will allow you to register without trade ID as you have already provided this previously. If you do not receive this code contact us on +61 (0)2 9211 7544.

I am a student, what do I do?

My college is attending

Advise your teacher that you would like to attend, the college will then send a full list of students to melissa.casey@reedexhibitions.com.au 

who will send your passes back to your college to pass onto you.

I am a student and want to attend the Expo by myself

Register online and fax a copy of your College ID card, enrollment form or copy of your completed course certificate to +61 (0)2 9211 7472 or mail to PO Box K402 Haymarket NSW 1240. If you post your Trade ID please do not send the original copies as we will not be able to return them.

You will then be emailed with your registration confirmation. Please bring this with to gain entry into the Expo.

I am currently studying and do not have a certificate yet, what do I do?

You are required to speak with your TAFE/College Principal who is required to write a letter on company letterhead confirming that you are a student. On this letter it must outline your full name and the course you are studying.

How do I receive my pass?

I registered online

You will receive your registration confirmation via email, which you need to print and bring along with you to gain entry into the Expo. The confirmation email will have a barcode on it that you need to scan at the scanning terminals in the foyer of the Exhibition Centre. This will then print out your badge that you are required to wear to get into the exhibition halls.

I completed a registration form

You will receive your pass through the post approximately a week before the exhibition. If you do not receive your badge you need to go to the Registration counter onsite.

Can I bring a child?

It is strongly recommended that children do not attend the exhibition due to occupational health and safety reasons. However if you are unable to arrange suitable care for the child then you may bring the child and sign a disclaimer form agreeing to take full responsibility whilst the child is at the exhibition.

Can I bring a friend or guest?

Salon Owners and Managers are allowed to bring one guest only for a fee of $20 per day that can only be purchased on the day from the registration desk. All proceeds go to the Look Good, Feel Better charity.

Where can I park?

The Melbourne Exhibition Centre has 1,060 undercover parking spaces, managed by Wilson Parking Entrance, off Normanby Road.
